Having previously lived 4 miles from this campsite, I knew the area well enough. The area of Laleham is very quaint and the local stretch of the Thames is beautiful. Laleham Village/Shepperton Village are great and Staines is less than a five minute car ride away.
The campsite however, is in stark contrast. For me, this site was quite unexceptable as a family camping destination. Local people actually live on site all year round...and they aren\'t shy in letting you know who\'s boss! Although I never felt threatened as such, I did feel very unwelcome. The showers are the worst ever - smelly, dirty and the water literally dripped from the shower head .
I couldn\'t stand it...so left after one night - was planning on staying for three . By chance, I found a glorious campsite in Chertsey - opposite bank of the river . This site was everything the Laleham site was not.
I shall not be returning...
